Website: NeoK12

http://www.neok12.com/

NeoK12 is a large and diverse collection of videos, games and lessons for students in grades K-12. This is a great tool for teachers to use in the classroom as well as for students to use for extra help in areas which they may struggle. All the content on NeoK12 is  reviewed by teachers prior to inclusion on the site. Videos are divided by content area and are short, making them ideal for introduction to a topic. The “What’s New Today?” tab features historical events that happened on that day, a word of the day with pronunciation, picture of the day, interesting facts and more. The “Create a Presentation” section allows student to choose pictures found in the public domain, add them to a presentation, read articles that pertain to the pictures to add content and then print out the presentation to share. Games range from checkers to leap froggies, there are puzzles, quiz games and games based on movies. All items can be embedded into a website, making them useful for homework assignments or extra credit. Many of the items work particularly well with interactive white boards.
